American Association of Community Colleges
Headquartered in the National Center for Higher Education in Washington, D.C., AACC is the primary advocacy organization for community colleges at the national level and works closely with directors of state offices to inform and affect state policy. In addition, AACC is a member of “The Six” large, presidentially based associations and collaborates with a wide range of entities within the higher education community to monitor and influence federal policy and to collaborate on issues of common interest.  The association has ongoing interaction with key federal departments and agencies including the U.S. departments of Labor, Education, Energy, Homeland Security, and Commerce and the National Science Foundation.

American Council on Education
The American Council on Education is the nation’s coordinating higher education association. Its approximately 1,800 members include accredited, degree-granting colleges and universities from all sectors of higher education and other education and education-related organizations.

Association of Community College Trustees
The Association of Community College Trustees is a nonprofit educational organization of governing boards, representing more than 6,500 elected and appointed trustees who govern over 1,200 community, technical, and junior colleges in the United States, Canada, and England.

Center for Community College Policy
The Center for Community College Policy conducts research and analysis; serves as a clearinghouse for state officials, college leaders and the media on issues of community college policy at the state level; and organizes national, regional and state-level workshops around issues of community college policy.

Funded by the Ford Foundation, this Web site houses the research and work behind the Ford Foundation’s Bridges to Opportunity Initiative.

The Institute for Community College Development
The Institute for Community College Development (ICCD), a partnership between the State University of New York and Cornell University, provides leadership development programs, consulting services, and applied research grant support for community college CEOs, administrators, faculty and trustees nation-wide.
